Mollie Turns 4

Our baby girl turned 4 this spring! Here are some pic's from her big day:

We decided to feed her healthy love of sweeping with her very own Mollie sized broom.

 The Cupcakes!

Our little ballerina also received a new dancing dress.
Happy Birthday Mollie!
We love you!!!

Mollie is 3!

Our baby is 3!!
Time has flown by so fast since this little one came into our lives! Here is a pic of her at her 1st birthday:

And here she is now enjoying her froggy cupcake on her birthday at home! What a difference!!

Here she is getting ready to devour that pile of frosting! Miss Mollie has a MAJOR sweet tooth! If she is crying and unwilling to stop she is easily bribed into stopping with candy or some other sweet treat!

She also can be oh so sweet in nature too! Here she is with her little chick (fluffy 2), who is the same kind as the one we lost in a dog attack last summer!

Oh Miss Mollie how you have grown! We love you so much and are so glad you are in our family!!

Happy Birthday 2 Mollie!!

Happy Birthday 2 you our little Mollie girl! It's hard to believe you are two already and yet you are very much still our baby girl! Although some days it does not seem possible that you are not older than two the way you chatter away in full sentences and then say"right mama?" like you need to make sure we understand all that you said! We love you so much and could not imagin our lives without your sweet smile everyday!

We started off celebrating Mollie turning two a little early this year with a small party after dinner at Nana Richardson's last Sunday. Early because Mimi and Papa were off to St. John for their annual vacation.
The cake did not come out as expected! Building a tower of cupcakes is not as easy as it looks! I really wanted to make Mollie the birthday tower in Hello Cupcake!, but they do not tell you that all your cupcakes must be almost flat and exactly the same size and your frosting like glue or it will slide and cave in!!! Oh well...Mollie still liked it! The look on her face as everyone was singing to her was priceless! She was very excited!!!

We tried to get her to blow the candles out by she ended up needing help from the big kids.

Not sure what this face is all about but she seems to be saying,
"What!? I'm 2! I'm still allowed to make messes aren't I?"

Mollie had a blast opening gifts! When she got a new outfit she would hold it up and everyone would cheer! She thought it was great!! It's ironic that on this same day we were also remembering my Pappy (James Richardson) who has been gone for ten years that very day. He seems to be sharing the day with us in these pics watching the whole scene!

Happy Birthday and we love you Mollie!
(and miss you Pap!)

When your 3 year old says...

..."do you want a hair cut" to your 1 year old, PANIC!!!

This is what I heard from the other room and before I knew it Emmy had snipped most of it off! Mollie's hair had grow down to her shoulders, thankfully it was that thin stringy looking baby hair that Emmy cut off (I was actually thinking it needed to be done anyway!).
She even did a pretty good job!

Here are some pics of Mollie's new pixie hair cut!

Hopefully it will grow in thicker now! It really could have been a lot worse!!!

Mollie's Coat

I hopped on to Muria's blog the other day looking for baby news and noticed her sister-in-law Sarah had some new pic's of their little girl (who happens to be a Molly only spelled with a "y" and only two months older than ours). I thought I was seeing a double of our little munchkin at first when I saw her Molly in the same exact coat as ours! Sarah later informed me that the coat is from NH and was given to her from Muria! Too funny!! So anyway here are the pics of our Mollie in her cute little fall coat, check out the link at the bottom for pics of their Molly! They look surprisingly similar!!

Check out this link to see the "other" Molly in her matching coat!

"Little Lady" Play Date

The big kids (James, Ethan, and Emmy) had a fun overnight at the campground with Nana and Bumpa on Friday and that left Mollie and I to ourselves! We have been trying to get together with little cousin Maddie but things are always busy! This seemed like the perfect time for a play date with the two "little lady's", here are some pics:
Mollie and Maddie on the baby swings!

Maddie was super cute and happy on the swings!

Mollie on the other hand was a little dingy and I thought she was going to go back to sleep a couple of times! I had to wake her up when we got there and I guess she just wasn't ready!!

She snapped out of it after a little while, here the girls are getting ready to try out the slide!

We ended up playing in the grass where it was nice and shady because it was actually really hot and sunny that morning! It was really nice to chat and watch the girls play (together, by themselves as Derek says). Can't wait to do it again!!

When Mommy Wasn't Looking!

Mollie LOVES yogurt...and because breakfast is usually a busy time of the day for us I fed her a few bites and then gave her the spoon to clean off and went out of the room for some reason or another. When I came back this is what I found:
She reached the edge of the table (you can see the corner in this pic) and started to feed herself!

With the wrong end of the spoon but she was definatly feeding herself!!

And loving it too!!!

You can tell by her face here that she was very proud of herself!

It's too bad she couldn't clean it up too!

First Birthday Cut-up Cake (and more Mollie Pics)

This is a super fun and easy cake for a first birthday, we also did this cake for Emmy and liked it so much we decided to do it again! It came from this fun book of kids cakes that my Mom bought:

We made a funfetti cake and let it cool overnight, it seems like it is easier to work with the next day.
Then I traced the lines with a knife and cut when I thought it looked just right!

Here is the #1 all cut out. I was able to make a little #1 with all the leftover cake! This is going to be Mollie's very own!!
Then a thin layer of frosting goes on next (this I learned from my good friend Muria). It helps all the little cake crumbs to stick to the cake and not appear in the final layer of frosting.

Here are the two cakes ready to frost.

And the final cakes, not as nice as I wanted but oh well!

Finally it is time for cake!
She is so excited at this point that she looks like she is pulling the table cloth so the cake will move closer!
Time to dig in! It was amazing how fast she shoved her hands in the cake and started shoveling! None of the other kids did that!!

Still shoveling...

...almost gone!

At this point she was done and starting to look a little off, like a sugar high coming to a screeching halt!!!

After the sugar high wore off a little Mollie opened presents (and yes that is my Dad sleeping in the chair behind me!)

And yes this is Daddy sleeping in the other chair!
"Daddy play with me please!"

Oh and I almost forgot a nick-name...Mollie Dolly!
Thanks Mimi and Papa for the fun doll!!
And thanks to everyone else who blessed Mollie with toys, clothing and $.
