Ancient Egyptian Feast

Here is the whole crew looking pretty cool in their Egyptian duds! Emmy and Becka just had to get in the picture but weren't interested in dressing up. I am not sure why James and Ethan look so unhappy in this picture but they had lots of fun dressing as Egyptian Kings.

Here the boys are making mummies! We used dollar store barbie type dolls and went through the whole process (except the organ removal of course) of preserving the body and wrapping it.

James is drying the body using salt. We waited 4 minutes to represent the 40 days it really takes!

Here is Ethan using salt, they also rubbed herbs and spices on the body to keep it smelling nice.

The finished product!

We all enjoyed the Egyptian feast, James' favorite was the hummus and unleavened bread (ie. pita pockets).

Ethan wouldn't try much (surprise, surprise) but the grapes and the hummus were big on his list.

Emmy tried everything and really liked the pomegranate! Her and Becka shared food by switching seats and checking out the others plate every few minutes.

Walk like and Egyptian!

Ranger Kids Fire Station Trip

The Rangers are learning about fire safety this quarter and took a trip to the Conway Fire Station. We had lots of fun trying on the equipment and climbing on the trucks.

Mollie Loves to eat her toes!

Every time I take Mollie's diaper off her toes go directly into her mouth!!

Egyptian Lego Houses

The kids built egyptian houses this week using Lego's. We learned about how they used a pattern of two short blocks and one long block to make the walls really strong.
Here are the houses:

Cookie Dough Maps

This week we were learning geography terms like bay, inlet, peninsula, and mesa to name a few. We decided to create our own country's out of cookie dough that included the land forms were were learning about.
James made a mountain range and a river shaped like a "4".

Ethan even made a cave in his.

Emmy joined in on the cookie dough fun, she ate most of her country though.

The Girls

Matching sisters... so cute!

Our little Mollie dolly.

Emmy had all her dolly's out and I just had to take some pic's!!

The Kids in the Jeep.

Check out the "3" man Jeep the kids came up with...

Blueberry Picking on Foss Mountain

We decided to check the blueberry supply on Foss and found a really nice patch!

After picking we explored the top and watched the sun set.

Mollie helped too!!

Summer Fun At Nana and Bumpa's Camper

The weekend after the wedding we all enjoyed a nice day at the campground with Pat's parents.
Mollie was looking very cute in her little swim suit.

Papa and Emmy in the water.

Ethan enjoying his favorite beach pastime... digging holes.

Emmy driving Bumpa's boat.

Here's looking at you James!

Daddy had the first turn on the tube... and under it!

Mimi and Emmy were next, they had lots of fun!!

Ethan enjoyed using the binoculars the wrong way and seeing everyone up close.

The Big Day (Auntie Sarah and Zacky's Wedding)

The wedding was beautiful and everything went as planned except for the chocolate fountain being shut off by mistake during the ceremony (it was a solid mass of chocolate by the time we got to the reception).
A match made in heaven!

The Girls!!

Posing for pictures was just too boring for Ethan so he had to liven it up a little.

Emmy did a great job, but by picture time she too was done!

Dad was starting to get a little goofy too!

James and the girls!!

Pat and Mollie hanging out watching all the action.
